Michigan officials are trying to convince voters to vote 'no' on prop one which would legalize reefer for medicinal use.
Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard was among those who gathered at the Southfield Public Library to voice opposition to the proposal, which public opinion polls in the state show is supported by from 59 percent to 67 percent of likely voters.Good, there is little chance of these prohibitionists will succeed in their unending, frivolous war. I find it odd that the Sheriff was there; I've noticed that among police there seems to be a consensus that reefer laws are outdated and need to be changed. In fact there is quite a large group called LEAP (Law Enforcement Against Prohibition).
Bill Clinton even said at the end of his term that reefer should be decriminalized, although he was too wimpy, not surprising, to actually draft and push for a bill. Millions of people use the drug regularly and it's time all the states put this issue on the ballot because decent, common sense Americans (59-67% of us) understand that justice is not served by imprisoning and fining these, fine, respectable reefer smokers. Why New York hasn't is embarrassing as a so called "liberal" state.
That said, the Kitten is still a cocktail man only.
