Osamu Shimomura, Martin Chalfie and Roger Y. Tsien used a specific protein in the Aequorea Victoria jellyfish that makes them glow green under ultraviolet light. The chemists observed that this certain protein could be used as a tag for different cells and even proteins in living organisms.It's implementation will help in Alzheimer's research.
